Production Powder Coating for Denver Manufacturers

We are a production finishing shop about an hour south of Denver on I-25. We coat batch work to the callout on your drawing, quote about a one-week lead time on standard jobs, and give you one point of contact.

Why send Denver batch work to Colorado Springs

The Denver metro has plenty of powder coaters. Some are set up mainly for one-off parts, wheels, and restoration work. That is a different business from coating 800 brackets to a drawing every month and having them come back the same way every time.

All Coat Finishing is a family-owned production finisher in Colorado Springs, and we have been doing this for about two decades. Our customers are manufacturers, OEMs, fabricators, and defense subcontractors with batch runs of hundreds to thousands of parts. If that describes your work, the hour on I-25 is usually a small cost compared with what you get:

  • Batch capacity. Rolling racks, multiple powder booths, and a large batch oven. We typically finish 500 to 2,000+ parts a day, depending on part size and masking. Small unmasked brackets sit at the high end; large cabinets or masking-heavy parts sit lower.
  • About a one-week lead time on standard jobs, so a Denver run can be quoted, scheduled, and planned around your own build dates.
  • Powder and liquid under one roof. Along with production powder coating, we do mil-spec and general industrial liquid painting, so a mixed order does not have to be split between vendors.
  • One quote, one PO. When a job needs abrasive blasting or screen printing, we coordinate it with trusted partners as part of the coating job. You deal with one shop.
  • Your QC procedure, not ours. On higher-volume programs we follow the customer’s inspection procedure, and we provide Certificates of Conformance on request.

Metal finishing for Denver manufacturers

“Metal finishing” covers a lot of ground. Here is what we actually do for Denver-area companies, and what we coordinate.

ProcessHow we handle it
Powder coatingIn-house, with Cardinal powders. Typically cured around 400°F at the part (metal temperature), depending on the powder.
Liquid (wet) paintingIn-house. Mil-spec and government work, CARC topcoats, aerospace epoxy primer and polyurethane topcoat, AMS-STD-595 color matches, and general industrial paint.
PrepIn-house: solvent wipe and degrease, multi-stage wash, outgas pre-bake, sanding.
Masking and pluggingIn-house, to the masking callout on your drawing.
Abrasive blastingCoordinated through a partner, only as part of a coating job.
Screen printingCoordinated through a partner. We coat, they print, we deliver.

Our process is built for metal parts that can be electrically grounded and withstand the cure temperature, such as steel and aluminum parts and welded assemblies. If you are not sure about a casting, galvanized part, or mixed-material assembly, send the drawing and ask.

The kinds of Denver-area work that fit

The work that fits us well usually looks like this:

  • Fabrication and machine shops that need a reliable finishing partner for fabricated parts.
  • Equipment, enclosure, and product manufacturers with repeat part numbers and blanket POs.
  • Aerospace and defense suppliers that need parts painted to a spec flowed down from a prime.
  • OEMs anywhere on the Front Range that want one finisher for both powder and liquid instead of two.

From Commerce City and Adams County to Englewood, Littleton, Centennial, and Aurora, what matters is that you build in batches and your drawings carry a coating callout.

How parts get between Denver and our shop

We do not run scheduled routes. Logistics are set up per job, and you can mix methods: we pick up the raw parts, and freight brings the finished ones back, for example.

You drop off and pick upPrototypes, first articles, urgent small lotsOur shop is at 4205 High Country Road in Colorado Springs. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Plan transit into your schedule. The one-week shop lead time starts when parts arrive, so a job that leaves Denver on a Monday is not coated by that Friday unless we have agreed that in advance.

Color sourcing with Cardinal’s Denver branch

We coat with Cardinal powders, and Cardinal Paint and Powder has a branch in Denver, which helps us get stock powder and color samples quickly. What that means for your job:

  • A physical sample before you approve. Ask us about a sample of the color instead of approving it on a screen.
  • Stock colors in small quantities. Cardinal stock powders come in boxes as small as 5 lb, which keeps short runs in common colors affordable.
  • Custom matches when you need them. Non-stock RAL, Federal Standard, or brand colors can be made as custom batches. Cardinal Xpress custom colors come in 50 lb batches, so on a small job the batch can be a large part of the cost. We will flag it when we quote.

Browse the families and popular codes on our Cardinal powder colors page, or put the Cardinal code, RAL number, or AMS-STD-595 number on your PO.

Getting a Denver job quoted

A complete package gets you a faster, more accurate quote. Send:

  1. Drawings or photos with the coating callout (material, color, gloss, texture, film thickness if specified).
  2. Quantity per release and expected annual volume, if it is a repeat part.
  3. Masking requirements: threads, bores, grounding points, mating faces.
  4. Any spec, QC procedure, or documentation requirement, including whether you need a Certificate of Conformance.
  5. How you want parts to move: our pickup, your drop-off, or freight.

If you are not sure what belongs on the callout, our coating callout checklist walks through it. When the package is ready, request a quote and attach your drawings. We quote to the specification you send, and we will tell you plainly if a single urgent part would be better served by a shop closer to you.

Common questions

Do you pick up and deliver in the Denver metro?

Yes, by arrangement. We set up pickup and delivery per job rather than running a fixed route, and it makes the most sense for larger runs. Tell us the quantity and pallet count when you request a quote and we will work out the logistics.

How long does a Denver job take?

Standard jobs run about one week in our shop. Add transit time on each end, which depends on whether we pick up, you drop off, or the parts move by freight. Custom colors, masking-heavy parts, and multi-coat systems can add time, and we will tell you up front.

Can I ship parts to you instead?

Yes. Palletized or boxed parts can come to us by common carrier or LTL freight, and finished parts can go back by freight on your account or a carrier you arrange. Tell us how they should be packed, and put your PO and part numbers on the paperwork so the parts get matched to the right job.

Is there a minimum order for Denver customers?

We have a small minimum charge that applies to every job, Denver or local. Pickup and delivery are easiest to justify on production quantities, so for a single small part a shop closer to you may be the faster option.

Where do you get your powder?

We coat with Cardinal powders. Cardinal has a Denver branch, which helps us get stock powder and color samples quickly. Ask us about a physical sample before you approve a color.
